Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has approved a total dividend payout of ₦6.8 billion following a robust financial year that saw significant growth in both revenue and profitability. The decision was reached during the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Thursday in Abuja, with shareholders unanimously backing the proposed dividend of ₦4.25 per share.

Addressing participants at the AGM, Board Chairman Engr. Goni Musa Sheikh disclosed that Julius Berger’s revenue surged by 34.1 percent, reaching ₦566.71 billion in the 2024 financial year, attributed to increased project activities across its core business segments. Profit before tax also witnessed a notable jump, rising by 38.5 percent to ₦40.95 billion from ₦29.57 billion in the previous year.

The company recorded a net profit of ₦30.17 billion for the period under review, which Sheikh described as one of Julius Berger’s strongest performances in recent years. Earnings per share nearly doubled to ₦18.69, up from ₦9.54 in 2024—a development welcomed by shareholders seeking stronger returns amid current economic challenges.

Sheikh attributed the improved results to efficient project execution and consistent performance across Julius Berger’s four main operational divisions: civil engineering, building construction, services, and diversification initiatives. He highlighted several major infrastructure and building projects completed nationwide during the year, which he said reinforced the company’s leadership position within Nigeria’s construction sector.

Looking ahead, Sheikh expressed optimism about sustaining this momentum through continued focus on service delivery and financial discipline. The approved dividend is expected to be distributed to shareholders in accordance with statutory guidelines.

The situation has heightened tension among voters and party supporters, who recall that prompt result uploads were a key promise by INEC following complaints from previous elections. The commission had earlier assured that its upgraded IReV system would guarantee real-time access to polling unit outcomes and foster public trust.

INEC officials attributed the disruption to technical glitches affecting network connectivity in some remote areas of Ekiti State. “Our teams are working round the clock to ensure all outstanding results are transmitted as soon as possible,” one official said on Sunday evening.
